Checking in: Westgate’s Orlando Water Park Resort

Every time we travel to Orlando (at least 4 times a year), we always look for a family-friendly resort that has plenty of activities to keep my active girl busy! This time we decided to stay at the Westgate’s Lake Resort & Spa and they did not disappoint )

ROOMS:

We stayed at the Westgate’s Orlando water park resort‘s 1 bedroom villa with kitchenette, our private balcony and the beautiful view of the lake. My favorite part though was the oversized jacuzzi, which is great for both adults and kids! Staying in this type of apartment is so convenient because we were able to prepare our own meals in the kitchen and share our dinner at the large dining table inside or the smaller round table on the patio while enjoying the view.

ATTRACTIONS:

I can’t even begin to name all of the attractions they have on site! Westgate Orlando hotel is literally a paradise for kids (and their parents!) because you don’t even need to leave the resort to find something fun to do!

  • Treasure Cove Waterpark: the newest attraction with bucaneer bay wave pool, dolphin drop & pirate plunge water slides, little parrot splash zone, lazy river and more! There are over 600 lounge chairs on the sun deck, private cabanas and a tiki bar/ restaurant.
  • Game Room: favorite of many during the evenings! Play the arcade games and win prizes- what is a better way to bond with your kids?
  • Bowling alley- its first come, first serve! We got some drinks and spent hours bowling and teaching Sophie how to properly play this game.
  • Playground- overlooking the lake, its a great place for your kiddos to blow off some energy while climbing, sliding and playing around.
  • Pirates Mini Golf- a popular activity throughout the whole day. It’s an 18- hole course next to Marina with a pirate theme and entertaining obstacles and challenges- a must do activity in the Westgate’s Orlando Resort.
  • Bicycle Rentals- Westgate’s Orlando hotel is huge, so if you want to see it completely or just want to go on a joy ride, make sure to rent those bikes you can use with your family.

DINNING:

Since many of the Westgate’s Orlando resorts rooms have a full kitchen, there is a marketplace on site where you can stack up on any groceries without having to leave the hotel! But if you don’t feel like cooking, these are the restaurants available at the resort:

  • Drafts Sports Bar & Grill- a sports bar/ restaurant with screen tv’s to watch your favorite sport and offers draft beers, cocktails, creative burgers and sizzling steaks.
  • Cordovano Joe’s New York style pizza- take it to go or enjoy it on their adjacent patio.
  • Sid’s Bistro- great for breakfast or snack! Find your favorite coffee, ice cream, fresh pastries and freshly squeezed juices here.

Westgate’s Lakes Resort & Spa also has a 10,000 sq ft full- service Serenity Spa and Fitness center. We only stayed 2 nights so we haven’t had the pleasure of visiting either of them but have heard great reviews from other visitors!

If you are looking for a family-friendly, inexpensive resort in Orlando, close to the theme parks then make sure to check out Westgate’s Orlando Resort!
