Birthday Getaway to Westgate New York

Having stayed at the Westgate Resorts in the past, I knew I had to spend my Birthday weekend at the Westgate New York Grand Central on my recent trip to NYC. As one of the most iconic hotels on 42nd street, Westgate’s history has started all the way in the early 1600’s. Located in the calm, semi-elevated neighborhood known as Tudor City, it is mainly explorable with the use of staircases and is supposedly the first residential skyscraper community ever developed. This historic hotel has been recently renovated with the new luxury hotel rooms and suits and its herringbone wood flooring, backlit LED mirrors and triple pane windows.

We stayed in the Luxe Queen Balcony Room with our own huge, private balcony with the most amazing views of the manhattan skyscrapers and East River. For our convenience, it had a small table and two chairs and we took advantage of those by having breakfast every morning on our private terrace!

There’s never a shortage of things to do in NYC and there are activities for everyone young and old alike right at the doorstep of Westgate New York Grand Central. From sightseeing and nature walks to arts, shopping and dining- all accessible via short walk, quick taxi ride or train ride.

There is no restaurant on site, but there is a Tudor Marketplace with fully stocked bar where you can purchase snacks, sandwiches, beverages and alcoholic drinks. The lobby lounge area is beyond comfortable and inviting and we spent hours there relaxing over a drink.
