If you are visiting Miami or just want to unwind from your busy lifestyle then you might want to visit one of the popular spas here in Florida. Almost every spa has something special to offer: the beautiful views of the beach, the unique treatments or the exotic decor. In this post though I will mention two of MY favorite places, both very different yet very special to me.
Let’s start with the one with the best view and decor – the ICON SPA on Brickell Ave, Downtown Miami. It is located on the 15th floor, thus, having some amazing views of the Bay. The whole spa was designed by the famous interior designer Philippe Starck and features floors and walls made out of marble, floor to ceiling windows and the furniture of royal style. And did I mention the most extravagant yellow chandelier that sits up on the high ceiling making this spa the most beautiful I have ever been to! Even stepping into the changing rooms you will be impressed to see the royal vanity make up table, huge free standing mirror and just about anything you might need from cotton pads to stylish hairdryer. In the spa bar you can help yourself to different types of tea or cucumber water. The spa offers many treatments as well as sauna, steam room and a modern gym. The next spa I want to mention is The STANDARD SPA at the Standard Spa Miami Hotel. The reason I like this place is its uniqueness and variety of things you can do while visiting them. This spa is very busy and for a good reason: with any treatment you choose over $75 you get a full day pass to their zero entry pool with views of the Bay, the turkish hammam (heated marble) , sauna, steam room and the gym. And if that wasn’t enough, they have a mud lounge located outside overlooking the Bay where you can buy their colored mud (its $40 or bring your own…see my suggestions at the bottom of this post), put it all over your body (you are welcome to be naked there if you dare) and dry it off in the Miami sun before hosing down in one of their outside tubs! You can also just take a soak in one of those tubs with cocktail in hand if you will 😉 If you want to plan your stay at this hotel you can book a room with your own outdoor bathtub and visit the spa free of charge.
